Reflections on ACA recovery

A small blue square the says Quote

by Rene A.

The wonder of it all.

In the beginning I felt regret and anger; regret for hurting others and anger for the childhood that wounded me and stole away my innocence. Sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly these old ways of responding began to shift and fall away like an iceberg breaking into pieces that melt back into the sea. Integration began here.

With the help of my fellow (read:sister) traveler, ACA literature, and the wisdom of ACA group members I’ve changed. I’ve come to know the truth of what we read at each meeting – there is a solution – to become our own loving parent. Action springing forth from love.

I’m learning and strengthening this new way of being in our meeting. Beginning the morning in a community bound by shared experiences, free to be on our own unique journeys has deepened and enriched my life. I am ever grateful.
