Wipe the tears from your eyes, Your pain will mend, Just amend, What has been, You will see a brighter New day to begin.

Non-dominant hand rock painting
~The little girl in me is finding tremendous joy in doing simple colorful rock paintings! This saying is from an Ann LaMotte story about a little girl and her Sunday school who was supposed to say I am valuable but she said it this way and it really touched me! I love to see it around the house to remind me that I is valuable!

My Courage To Change
I was a terrible English student. I hated “it” and all the rules and structure surrounding “good” writing. Who are “they” to tell me how to do it? My writer’s group started out that way too, but I finally had something I didn’t have as a youngster. I had a voice. I set a boundary with my writer’s group and continued to write…my way. It was important to tell my stories…for me, for my inner family and for others walking a similar road. I began to feel seen…heard…supported and celebrated! My writer’s group may never truly appreciate my “overuse of ellipses”, but that’s ok. I know what those three little dots mean to me.

Melting
~I created this artsy poem in our words “play-shop” led by Betsy during the Fall Festival. Will the tablecloth survive? Doesn’t matter because underneath, the actual table still holds space for candlelight and dancing.

Temperature Blanket
Hello Friends! I have had fun crocheting a ‘temperature blanket’ one row per night this year. The idea is you select colors to represent every 10 degrees (from below zero to over 100 — or whatever is appropriate for where you live) and each night I look up the high temp for my town and crochet a row of the corresponding color. The black lines divide the months. I have not tired of this evening activity and laugh when I hear myself thinking ‘oh dang, I was hoping it would go below zero or over 100 degrees so that I could add a new color’ — thankfully, that did happen a few times. Blanket creation began on January 1st so I have a few more months. This photo is a few months old — the center summer months of the blanket are very red and purple. This blanket is huge, it’s heavy, it’s colorful, it’s cozy, it’s easy, it’s fun, and I’m trying to figure out who in my family I could make one for next year. Thanks for giving me a place to share this little joy in my life.

Read to Me
“Read to Me” is a mini-mural I painted on a “Little Free Library” in Ithaca, NY. it was inspired by neighborhood kids. Each child chose an animal or other living thing they wanted depicted and I composed the painting.

Summer Garden at Night
After beginning Inner Child work in ACA, I started a sketchbook after many decades of not doing any drawing at all. This ink and crayon drawing is inspired by the beauties of nature in my outdoor garden at night, and by the permission I’ve given myself to explore new modes of pleasure and expression without conforming to all the rules, shoulds, and comparisons that have constrained me for so long.
