Term: 6 months, with an option to renew once for an additional 6 months

Duties/responsibilities:

Accountable to the SMR Group Conscience Business Meeting, the Communications Secretary:

• Is familiar with the SMR Trusted Servants’ Commitment (the basics)
• Coordinates the info@acamorning.org account (e.g., responds to and redirects inquiries, creates and files electronic business records) and associated storage drive (e.g., databases); ensures continuity of access to and shares electronic business records to support participation in meetings
• Uses MailChimp or similar email service to maintain contact list and mailing lists, including list segments such as trusted servants
• Updates Intergroup and WSO with respect to any changes in the SMR meeting (e.g., Zoom meeting number, etc.), at least annually
• Reports as necessary at business and committee meetings on projects and tasks
• May volunteer take minutes at business and committee meetings
• Works with others to define matters requiring attention, and to develop and recommend solutions

Helpful qualities:

• The Secretary is an elected officer
• Six months of recovery in ACA and two months of regular attendance at and participation in ACA SMR
• Good listening, oral and written communication, and time-management skills

• If leading an agenda item at a meeting, electronic documents are to be provided to the secretary or chair beforehand
