Assist Us

Please respond by Friday 10/23/20 for your feedback to be included in the first review

You can help us decide whether a website is useful by reading the document put together by our current treasurer, and by making comments on both of the spreadsheets on this page.

First, the Website Budget Estimate from Jim, our treasurer. Jim provides you with basic costs as well as information from other ACA groups who have built websites for their groups.

Second, we have the Website Budget Sample from Robert. If you know about the costs of building and maintaining a website you can help us fill in the blanks on the budget.

Finally, if you currently do service for this meeting and can help us determine whether the site makes your job easier (or harder), tell us how. Or, if you do service for another meeting and can give examples of how a website helped (or didn’t), we’d like to know. Robert has built a Justification Sample to help us ascertain the types of interactions the meeting needs to handle, how they are currently being done and how a website might fill in gaps.

If it’s easier for you to think by inputting information into the spreadsheets for Budget and Justification, we include them here for you to download.

We ask you to make comments on this page and we’ll fill in the information so we don’t have hundreds of different versions to track.

The site is beautiful and easy to use. I like that the Zoom and PayPal information were readily available. The budget estimate is well thought out and thorough. Nice job.

This site is lovely and the information is a snap to access. As a newbie to ACA I appreciate the range of information presented. Congratulations. You are doing amazing work. Thank you so much for your service.

Very welcoming website. Love the soft colors and the font….very soothing! It will be great to have a central place to find all of these resources related to our meeting.

I noticed the Books and Videos pages. I’m pretty new to ACA, but wondering if it is acceptable to endorse non-program literature. These books and videos look like great resources; but in my other program, endorsing them would probably violate the traditions. Just wondering if the same holds true for the ACA traditions.

This is really a great website with so much to offer. It will be a great addition and supplement to the meetings, making the information from the announcements much more accessible and retrievable if you miss the link in the chat box.

Thanks, Linda. This is a question I’ve also been looking at. What I was hoping was a place people could post resources that had been helpful to them personally and I’m not sure whether just having a disclaimer that our listing is not an endorsement is enough. I’m hoping we’ll form a really strong website committee that can answer some of these questions and guide the process. Like today in the group I was in, there were several poems mentioned. I’d love to create links to them as I find poetry incredibly healing. But….

It’s always challenging to create something from scratch. I applaud the people who put the work into this design. It took time and thought and research. For me, there are a few concerns. First, I am assuming the pop-up ads will not be part of the established site. Second, I’m wondering what the Possible Additional Costs entail. The amount seems like a lot of money to expend each year. What do we get for that? Finally, for me, the design and colors seem a bit too quiet and a little empty and dull. It doesn’t draw me in with graphics or visuals etc.
