2023 Ballot Proposals and 

the Annual Business Conference

The Ballot…

The ACA World Service Organization provides a process for member groups to recommend changes to the organization or to suggest literature development, among other things. This is the Ballot Proposal Process.

Basically, a group submits a Proposal supporting an idea of benefit to ACA, worldwide. The item, along with other proposals, is added to a ballot. All registered groups may submit a single vote on the different proposals. The ballot asks whether the issue should be discussed at the Annual Business Conference (ABC), and implies agreement with the issue. If 67% of groups say ‘yes’, the proposal is placed on the conference agenda.

The Strengthening My Recovery meeting is determining how to reach a group consensus on a vote for each Ballot Proposal.

Since the Covid pandemic, the ABCs have been entirely virtual. The Conference will take place online, May 6th and 7th. All ACA members are welcome to attend, registration is required. Each group, Intergroup and Region is invited to send a Delegate to participate in the business conference procedures. More information will be found at www.acaworldconvention.org in the coming weeks.
